Early Times Report Rajouri, Jan 9: Residents of Rajouri and districts are irked over unscheduled power curtailment in their areas. The people, living in several villages across Rajouri district, said, "We do not have an issue with scheduled power curtailment, but our problem is with unscheduled power cuts. Unscheduled curtailment, taking place these days, is taking a toll on our lives." Sanjay Sharma a local Resident alleged, Frequent power cuts, that too in an unscheduled manner, are affecting the people. The department needs to do something about it. It is high time. They appealed to the district administration to intervene in the matter and redress the grievances of the common masses. Another local, Vinod kumar said, Power crisis is swelling in rural areas and the power development department is giving priority to urban areas. The government and concerned agencies should expedite the process of installation of power metres, in both rural and urban areas, so that power theft is prevented and brought to an end. Meanwhile, a power development department official told early Times said that power distribution system is facing severe burden, which is giving birth to unscheduled power curtailment. He appealed to people to restrict use of heavy power appliances, especially heating appliances. |
