JAMMU, Jan 9: Showing thumbs down to Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Samba, surprise inspection of a Cement store at Block Development Office (BDO) Bari Brahmana on December 28 where around 300 bags of expired cement were found stored, the concerned Block Development Officer has reportedly issued around 100 bags from the same stock for ongoing construction works of CFC building at Smailpur. However, according to sources, the ADDC Samba Rachna Sharma, following reports of the issuance of expired cement, again paid a surprise visit to the store and after counting of remaining cement bags, have reportedly seized the store. Sources informed Early Times that on December 28, 2019, ADDC Samba along with Executive Engineer, REW Samba and others found more than 300 bags of expired cement stored in the store of BDO, Bari Brahmana. “Subsequently, the XEn wrote a letter to DDC Samba for directions to SHO Police Station, Bari Brahamana to take expired cement into custody and registration of FIR in this matter,” sources said, adding that but, no further actions were taken in this regard by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba. “But, under alleged patronage of district administration, the BDO Bari Brahamana issued around100 out of 300 bags of expired cement to one his GRS Javed for the construction of a CFC building at Smailpur apparently to destroy the evidence,” they said, adding that the ADDC Samba one again rushed on spot after getting information on the supply of expired cement by the BDO. “ADDC Samba, accompanied by the XEn REW Samba once again on January 8, 2020 inspected the store and found at least 100 bags of expired Cement from the store”, sources said, adding that the store has been seized for the ADDC. Block Development Officer, Bari Brahmana, Sandeep Kumar when contacted said that there was nothing like what is being propagated by some persons having vested interests. “My office/store are open, any citizen can visit here to check what is being claimed. It is totally baseless and has nothing to do with facts”, he added. However, contrary to BDO’s claims photographs clicked during both inspections within 10 days by the ADDC Samba narrates another story. ADDC Samba, Rachna Sharma didn't answer repeated phone calls made by this correspondent.
