Srinagar, Jan 10: Two porters belonging to the Indian Army were killed in a ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Another three porters were also injured as Pakistan forces resorted to mortar shelling in Gulpur sector of Poonch district. The Pakistan Army targeted forward posts along the LoC in mortar shelling today, officials said. "Today at about 1100 hours, Pak Army initiated unprovoked shelling with mortars along LoC in Gulpur sector in district Poonch," a defence spokesman said.
According to officials, the porters were working in an area near the LoC when the mortar shelling started. The porters were hit directly. The injured porters were admitted to a hospital. Meanwhile, efforts were on to recover the bodies of the two porters who died. |
