Secy RDD constitutes committee to probe withdrawal of material payments under MGNREGA

JAMMU, Jan 11: In a public complaint filed by the people from Panchayat Sounder-B from Dachhan block of Kishtwar District alleging withdrawal of material payments under MGNREGA against the names of non entity, Secretary Rural Development Department (RDD) ordered for constitution of a four member committee headed by ADDC Doda to investigate into the allegations.
Joint Director (Adm), Director of Rural Development, Executive Engineer (REW) Ramban & Account Officer (Director RDD Jammu) will be the members of the probe committee.
As per the order No. 339 Rd& PR of 2020, dated 9-1-2020, the committee shall look into the misappropriation of funds on account of material component MGNREGA schemes at Panchayat Halqas Sounder-B as per the contents of the complaint filed by the people. The committee has been asked to submit the report within 10 days.
Early Times has highlighted these irregularities from time to time and has even accessed the documental trail pertaining to withdrawal of material cost on the name of 9 Panchayats of Dachhan block which is in possession of "Early Times".
Out of around Rs 8 crores, Rs 17436991 was withdrawn from Loharna B Panchayat and the release of material is on the name of Ghulam Mohammad, Masood Ahmed, Jagdish Raj, Manoj Kumar and others while in Loharna A, Rs 15119267 had been withdrawn as material cost under MGNREGA on the names of Vinod Kumar, Shambu Nath, Anoop Kumar and others.
In Panchayat Lopara A, Rs 6613967 was withdrawn against the name of Gopal Krishan, Gopal Nath, Vinod Kumar, Anoop Kumar and others while in a similar pattern Rs 19874937 had been withdrawn in Panchayat Janakpur against the names of Rohit Kumar, Anoop Kumar, Parveena Begum, Mangat Ram, Sonu Ram, Abdul Wahid, Yash Nath, Mohammad Amin, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Bidya Lal, Mohammad Akbar and others.
In Panchayat Sounder A, an amount of Rs 2835744 had been withdrawn against the names of Shahdi Lal, Rajesh Thakur, Arjun Dass, Kishori Lal and others while in Panchayat Sounder B, an amount of Rs 386885.815 against the names of Farooq Ahmed, Asif Iqbal Sheikh, Amir Sohal, Mohammad Ashraf and others was withdrawn.
In Panchayat Lopara A, Rs 4880651 had been withdrawn against the names of Babu Lal, Brig Nath, Parveena Begum, Shambu Nath, Kishore Kumar, Anoop Kumar and others.
In Panchayat Chicha A, Rs. 6437262 had been withdrawn against the names of Mukesh Kumar, Baghat Ram, Ghulam Ali, Bansi Lal, Parveena Begum, Bikram Parihar and others.
In Panchayat Sounder C, Rs. 3968058.6326 has been withdrawn against the names of Jatinder Kumar, Shabir Ahmed, Parveena Begum, Lassa Akhoon and others.
Sources said that among Rs 8 crore withdrawn from block Dachhan during the year 2017-18, majority of the amount went into the kitty of RDD officials and politicians while the amount runs into several crores for the year 2015-16 & 2016-17 as well which also needed to be probed, beside the process need to be set into motion for recovery of the embezzled amount swindled by the RDD employees and political activist nexus.
