Early Times Report

Udhampur, Jan 21: The working of Municipal Committee in Udhampur can be better judged from the fact that three sheds were constructed for water ATMs by MC Udhampur but the installation of ATMs has yet to be done even after the lapse of three years.
It was Municipal Committee Udhampur that constructed these sheds in June 2017 at three places MH Road, Sailan Talab and in front of Municipal Committee at Town Hall Udhampur. Surprisingly, even after the lapse of almost three years , no water ATM locals been installed at any of the three places it means Municipal Committee Udhampur did cruel jokes with people for providing mineral water but reality is that they were failed to provided mineral water for Udhampur people .
Sources informed that if installed a glass of mineral water would cost Re 1 or 2 rupees at these ATMs. If one puts in Re 1 or 2 in the water ATM, mineral water will come out of the tap connected with the machine and can be collected in a glass and after the glass gets filled the water stops, added Sahil Sharma another local. The locals have urged to the Director Urban and Local Bodies Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Piyush Singla to intervene into this matter.
When contacted Director Urban And Local Bodies Jammu for his comments but he did not picked the phone call.
