Inaugurates BDC chairman office, CFC Chak Jarallian, lays foundation stone of bridge at Lamberi

RAJOURI, JANUARY 22: As part of Union Government's Public Outreach Programme, Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao today conducted a public outreach camp at Nowshera, Rajouri.

Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Additional SP Nowshera, Executive Engineer PWD Nowhera, Chief Education Officer, Tehsildar Nowshera, Block Development Officer and other officers of district administration were present on the occasion. BDC Chairperson Lamberi, Vikas Sharma, BDC Chairperson, Nowshera Bodh Raj, BDC Chairperson, Seri Neena Sharma, BDC Chairperson, Qila Darhal, Khaliq Ahmed and Chairman MC Nowshera, Narinder Sharma were also present during the programme.

The outreach programme witnessed overwhelming participation of BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanches, Panches and general public hailing from different areas, particularly the border areas of the subdivision.

The Minister also dedicated Community facilitation Centre (CFC) to the Public of Chalk Jarallian, a building to BDC Chairperson Nowshera so that he can establish his office and laid foundation stone of 100 mtrs Motorable Bridge over Nowshera Tawi at Lamberi.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera presented a detailed account of various developmental activities and welfare schemes being carried out by different departments in the area.

BDC chairpersons and Chairman MC Nowshera while speaking on the occasion highlighted major issues and demands of their areas including sanctioning of a Kendriya Vidayala and Navodaya Vidyalaya for Nowshera, commissioning of Grid Station Stone, provision of Mobile Connectivity for the Shadow areas belonging to border belts, Opening Telephone exchanges, Completion of Ring Road Nowshera, enhancement in the salary of Sarpanchs and Panchs, SC/ST Hostel at Nowshera, accountability of funds released under TSP/BADP, border Bunkers, Super speciality hospital on Jammu Poonch Highway near Lamberi, Degree College Lamberi, Skill Development Centre for Nowshera, harnessing of local Tourism potential, Satellite campus for GDC Nowshera, provision critical care ambulance for border, special recruitment and a number of other demands.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government is committed to ensure all round development for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the current visit is part of the initiative to take efficient governance to the doorsteps of people. He said that the objective of holding public outreach programme is to disseminate the information about various government schemes and to take review of implementation of these schemes on the ground.

The Minister said that central government has launched several schemes for the welfare of the general public and appealed the masses to avail the benefits.

While giving details of the achievements under different schemes, the Minister informed the gathering that more than 2.5 lakh units under SBM have been established in the UT and near about 62% of targeted population of the UT has been covered under different pension schemes. He further said that in order to improve health services, 02 AIIMS shall be established soon in the UT with an estimated cost of Rs 900 crore. He added that 18500 houses have been completed under PMAY in the last two years. He highlighted that in order to ensure transparency, Anti-Corruption Bureau has been launched in Jammu and Kashmir.

Regarding employment generation he said more than 4000 educated youths have been provided with employment opportunities in the union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir under Himayat. He said that Jammu and Kashmir has immense potential in Hydroelectric sector.

He said that various initiatives for the development of J&K have been taken and Government is committed for equitable development of all without any discrimination. He asked the Citizens to participate in policy formulation and program implementation to usher in an era of direct participatory democracy. He also highlighted that after the abrogation of Article 370, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a number of positive changes like implementation of 73rd and 74th amendment Act and rise in the ease of doing business index. He said Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is at 10th position in terms of ease of doing business which is a good sign. He said that in order to bring transparency and accountability the Anti corruption Act is implemented in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Minister also said that the vision of the present Government is to complete all the Schemes in minimum time. He said there is no dearth of funds to cover the developmental deficit of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the recent package and the Sanctioning of Bridge under CRF at a cost of Rs 16 crore is stands testimony to it.

On the occasion, the Minister handed over sanctioned letters to the beneficiaries including letters of state marriage assistance and letters of pension cases including old age, widow and physically challenged. He also distributed water testing kits among the beneficiaries and school kits among the girl students under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme.

Moreover, the Minister also paid a visit to the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Nowshera and inspected the classroom, ICT laboratory and School library. He also interacted with staff members and asked the Director School Education Jammy to keep provision of Library even after the School hours. The Director School Education, Anuradha Gupta informed that the Department of School Education is planning to open Reading rooms in schools.

The Minister also interacted with number of public deputations at PWD Dak Bunglow Nowshera. During the interaction with the public Deputations the Minister assured that their issue will be resolved at the earliest.
