Jammu, Feb 6: The Directorate Health and Services Jammu suspended a doctor, who was arrested a few days back by Police personnel, for carrying out an illegal abortion and running clinic without proper permission from the concerned department.
On Thursday, a commutation received by the DHS Jammu for taking up necessary action and following the rules the Director of DHS Jammu suspended the doctor. Pertinently, on receiving information about an illegal Nursing home running, Police team along with CMO Jammu Dr JP Singh, and Nodal Officer PNDT Dr Sahid reached the spot and found a foetous in the suction machine in the presence of Executive Magistrate and sent for the FSL examination.
The residential house was raided where the nursing home was found running ‘illegally’ by one Dr Darshana Devi,” as per Police statement and the police officer further said that a haul of medicines, surgical items and other gadgets with machinery used for abortion and other illegal activities were also seized while the nursing home was sealed on the spot. A case under FIR number 27/2020 under section 23, 25, PNDT Act, 312 IPC Act have been registered against Dr Darshana Devi and her helper Ajay Singh
