ADDC Ramban flags off farmers’ tours

RAMBAN, Feb 09: A group of progressive farmers belong to the district Ramban was flagged off by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ramban, Nawab Din from Agriculture Complex Ramban to SUKAST Jammu for five days exposure tour, here today.
Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO), Ramban, RK Hitaishi, Agriculture Officer, MG Singh, Apiculture Development Assistant, Ayaz Ahmed Rishi besides other agriculture officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion ADDC informed that keeping in view huge potential of Agriculture farming in district Ramban a group of 50 progressive farmers was flagged of for five days awareness tour to SKUAST-J said that spotting the potential of innovative agriculture farming as a source of employment, government working with farmers is proposing to adopt farming as business with modern way.
He further said such tours helps the farmers to acquaint with the best Agricultural technology and good practices for the better production of their crops besides helping them to interact with the successful farmers who could provide them the expert guidance.
While interacting with touring farmers, ADDC advised them to participate with full interest in training sessions to be conducted by the scientists and lectures by experts on different topics related to agriculture Production. He stressed for adopting eco-friendly practices in the farming to realize the goal of sustainable agriculture.
CAO Ramban informed that during the programme the farmers will interact with the university experts at SUKAST Jammu regarding the latest happening in agriculture in general and organic farming in particular.
