Kisan Sabha to celebrate 40th Foundation Day
2/9/2020 9:36:35 PM
Jammu, Feb 9: Kisan Sabha is going to celebrate its 40th Foundation Day. After holding a Kisan Samelan on its foundation day at Billawar in January this year, the Kisan Sabha has decided to hold series of programmes in different areas and districts of Jammu and Kashmir during the year long celebrations. While addressing the media persons at Press Club Jammu, the President of Kisan Sabha Hari Chand Jalmeria, highlighted the issues of the farmers and also announced Jammu and Kashmir Committee of the Sabha.
Farmers comprise over 75% population in India, agriculture is their main source of survival. They are the backbone of the Country. Major part of Country’s budget should be spent for farmers’ all round development. For lack of procurement, storage and marketing facilities, the farmers face uncertainities and suffer losses despite their hard work for making agriculture and allied production. They are left to be exploited by private business houses. The Govt. should provide integrated facilities to farmers for their production and marketing and procurement centers at Panchayat levels and also should ensure profitable prices to farmers for all their products.
