Jammu, Feb 10: A lecture in the memory of Prof G.L Koul, the founding member of the Department was organized by the Department of Computer Science & IT. While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest of the function, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Manoj Dhar appreciated the efforts of the Head of the department of Computer Science and IT in taking the initiative for organizing such series of lectures. Vice-Chancellor also underlined the achievements and contributions of Prof. G. L. Kaul in building the department. Prof. Girish Nath Jha from Jawaharlal Nehru University was the resource person who delivered a lecture on Natural Language Processing. The title of the lecture was “AI in Wilderness - Perils of Linguistic Computing in Diverse Societies”. Prof. Naresh Padha, Dean Research Studies, was the guest of the honor. While speaking on the occasion he recalled his long association with Prof. G.L. Kaul. Prof. Lalit Sen Sharma, Head of the department in his welcome address discussed the significance of the topic of the lecture in today world of information technology and assured that holding of such lectures shall be the continuous feature in every year.
