Jammu, Feb 10: Shifting towards new modus operandi for smuggling of bovines into Kashmir valley, the smugglers use big trailers meant for ferrying cars and bikes. In a recent case, the Bage-Bahu Police has seized trailer being used to transport bovine to Valley. According to sources, yesterday Bage-Bahu Police has seized a trailer, however, noticing that Police vehicle was following him the driver tried to ran the trailer, but escaped after some time. “A companion of the absconding driver was arrested. He has been identified as Abdul Hamid, resident of Qazikund”, they said, adding that the seized vehicle (trailer) has been internally modified. “Angles have used for partition in the cabin of trailer, while ventilators are placed towards rooftop of the vehicle”, they said, adding that a Police alerted at Bage-Bahu area along Jammu-Srinagar road, notice something fishy and tried to stop the vehicle. “He ran away but latter apprehended by Police. A case stands registered at Police Station Bage-Bahu and investigation has been started”, the officer said. |
