DC holds meeting for fixation of brick rates

JAMMU, Feb 11: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan today convened a meeting for fixation of sale rates of bricks manufactured in district Jammu.
The meeting was attended by SSP Jammu, Shridhar Patel, Assistant Commissioner General, Muddasir Latifi Tasir, ACR Jammu, Vijay Sharma, GM DIC, Subah Mehta, Sub Divisional Magistrates of Jammu district, senior functionaries of concerned department and members of brick kiln association.
It is pertinent to mention, the old rates which were revised in the year 2015 are Rs 5700 per thousand for B quality bricks, Rs 5000 for C quality bricks and Rs 5850 for tiles.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the brick kiln association to submit proposed rates in her office and after examining the same, new rates would be notified. She also passed directions that quality of bricks should be consistent with the norms/ standards fixed by the Indian Bureau of standards and abide with the conditions laid down by the pollution control board. She also asked the association to share the details of labourers to police.
