Former Legislators, BDC Chairperson, Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association, public delegations call on Lt Governor

Jammu, Feb 12: Former Legislators, BDC Chairperson, Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association and several public delegations called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today and apprised him about their concerning issues.
Girdhari Lal Raina, ex-MLC submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor pertaining to the welfare of migrant Kashmiri Pandits including speedy implementation of PM’s employment package, transit accommodation for employees, re-imbursement of medical expenses, extension of welfare scheme benefits, removal of encroachments from the left behind properties of the community in Kashmir, protection of Temples and Shrines etc.
A public delegation from Rajouri comprising of BDC, Chairperson, Darbar Ahmed and ex-MLA, Ch. Qamar Hussain submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor related to the welfare of ST community including reservation in promotions, reservation in private sector, release of tribal funds, political reservation, special employment package & recruitment, representation in delimitation commission, inclusion of Gojri language into VIII schedule etc.
Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association led by its General Secretary, D K Chauhan accompanied by Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, ex-MLA raised various issues related to the formation of Statutory Paramilitary Welfare Board, employment to eligible dependent of martyrs personnel of CRPF, payment of ex-gratia, medical treatment facilities to ex-servicemen, post retirement benefits, compassionate appointments reservation in educational institutions to the wards of CRPF personnel.
Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, ex-MLA also apprised the Lt Governor about various developmental issues pertaining to the grant of ownership rights of Agriculture lands to the local allottees, development of infrastructure in Government run schools, upgradation of power infrastructure and distribution of Kisan Credit Cards to all the eligible beneficiaries.
Ch. Abdul Hamid, Chairman, Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu briefed the Lt Governor about various activities undertaken by the trust for the welfare of Gujjar Community and other under-privileged classes of J&K. He also extended invitation to the Lt Governor for the inaugural ceremony of the new Academic Block of Brigadier Khuda Baksh Memorial Public Higher Secondary School, Jammu.
A delegation of Student Nation Organization briefed the Lt Governor about their upcoming activities for promoting sports culture among the local youth with social issues as a backdrop and sought Government’s support in their initiative.
The Lt Governor interacted with the members of the delegations and assured them to review the genuine issues and demands projected by them for their early redressal. He urged the former Legislators and the members of the delegations to continue working towards the advancement of public welfare.
