11 thieves arrested: 12 motor vehicles, 160 gm gold, mobile phone recovered

Jammu, Feb 22: Gandhi Nagar Police have arrested 11 thieves and recovered 12 motor vehicles and atleast 160 grams of gold from their possession.
According to sources, to reduce the menace of motor vehicles theft/ burglary and snatching in South Division of Jammu City, SSP Jammu has constituted a special team headed by Inspector Gurnam Singh Choudhary SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
Acting swiftly the team established surprised nakas at different locations and rounded up number of suspects and put them to sustained questioning during which accused namely Mukhtiar Ali resident of Hugli, West Bengal presently Jain Bazar Jammu, Ejaz Ahmed resident of Mahore Reasi, Zulfkar resident of Malik Market Narwal Jammu, Tahir Ahmed resident of Bihar, Sonam resident of Chattisgarh, Parvez Ahmed resident of Nigam Budgam Kashmir and five juveniles involved in the commission of crime were sent to Juvenile Home R.S. Pura after legal formalities.
On the disclosure statement of the accused the following items were recovered, 12 motor vehicles, gold ornaments weighing 16 tolas worth Rs 7,50,000/- stolen in case FIR No. 44/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC and one Samsung Mobile worth Rs 21,000/-snatched in case FIR No. 28/2020 U/S 382/34 IPC were recovered.
The detail of motor vehicles recovered is as Honda City, PB02AP/ 0290, recovered in FIR No. 01/2020 U/S 379 IPC, Glamour motor cycle JK02AV/3099 recovered in FIR No. 25/2020 U/S 379 IPC, Scooty Activa JK02BL/1710 recovered in FIR No. 26/2020 U/S 379 IPC, Accent Car JK02T/ 3837 recovered in FIR No. 34/2020 U/S 379 IPC, Maruti Van JK02M/ 9349, recovered in FIR No. 41/2020 U/S 379 IPC,motor cycle Passion Pro JK02AR/ 6970 recovered in FIR No. 42/2020 U/S 379 IPC, motor cycle Splendors JK08D/ 1148 recovered in FIR No. 47/2020 U/S 379 IPC, Eeco Car JK02CL/ 2034 recovered in FIR No. 56/2020 U/S 379 IPC, Swift Car seized in case FIR No.37/2020 U/S 420/467/468/471 IPC, Scooty Activa seized U/S 102 CrPC, Scooty Activa JK02BK/0274 Seized U/S 102 CrPC and motor cycle Glamour Seized U/S 102 CrPC.
A total of nine motor vehicle theft, one burglary and one snatching case of Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu have been worked out with the arrest of these M.V. lifters/ burglars.
The questioning of the accused is going on and more recoveries at this stage can’t be ruled out. The arrest and recoveries were made by Inspector Gurnam Singh Choudhary SHO Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of DySP Ram Singh SDPO City South Jammu, Vinay Kumar SP City South, and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
