Ramban witnesses shutdown after imposition of section 144

RAMBAN, Mar 19: All the markets of district Ramban including Ramban, Banihal, Batote, Gool, Ramsoo, Rajgarh were remained closed today besides public transport was also suspended on all links roads across the district Ramban keeping in view prevailing health situation due to spread of COVID-19.
Following the orders of the District Magistrate, Ramban, Naazim Zai Khan for imposing Section 144 CrPc to prevent spread of Covid-19 and closing all hotels, educational institutions and restricting the opening of shops, restaurants and dhabas besides banning the plying of all local transport including buses, minibuses and taxies the markets in all major towns of Ramban district wore a deserted look for the second consecutive day today.
The shops, dhabas, restaurants and hotels remained closed and minibuses and autos remained off the road. However, the medical shops remain open. Many a people were seen walking long distances with luggages on their heads.
Many a employees couldn't reach their offices in time and had to face much difficulty in reaching their offices.
Government officials including cops and members of NGOs like QRT were seen distributing pamphlets or making announcements on loudspeakers to educate public for the prevention of Covid-19.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Haseeb Ur Rehman said that Police and other enforcement agencies are ensuring effective implementation of restrictions. He further said that violators shall be deal with iron hands.
