FIR registered against rumour mongers, one arrested | | | Jammu March 19: Acting tough against the rumour mongers for spreading fake news about the surfacing of Coronavirus case in Kishtwar District, On the recommendation of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar— Kishtwar Police last mid night register an FIR No.47 U/S 505 IPC and arrested one person for circulating fake message regarding surfacing of Coronavirus case in Kishtwar and even named the victim that create massive uproar in whole area beside launched massive hunt to nab other accused person who circulated the fake message on social networking site. This is first FIR UT of J&K with regard to dealing with Coronavirus related issue. As per the details available with Early Times, the panic gripped Kishtwar town following the circulation of message on social media as a result of which the family of the victim who was shown in the said fake message as Coronavirus case from Kishtwar District was shocked to find his family member name in the message. The victim’s family told the Early Times that they started receiving the calls from their relatives and friends inquiring about the news added that they feel harassed over the circulation of the message and approach the Kishtwar Police and Administration for taking action against the rumour mongers. Following massive uproar, Kishtwar Police Register an FIR and arrested one person identified them as Kashif Zarger, a readymade garment shop owner while few other persons who were involved in circulation of fake message has been identified and will be arrested shortly. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara today held a press conference at his office chamber and appealed to the public to avoid spreading of rumours about COVID-19.
