Hotelier book for failing to provide information on stay of British national

Banihal, Mar 22: Taking strong notice of violation of standing orders issued by the District Magistrate Ramban with regard to prevention of Corona Virus epidemic, Ramban police booked and arrested the hotelier for failing to report the stay of British national in his hotel during the intervening night of 19/20 March 2020.
As per the details available with Early Times, Ramban Police after developing an information received at Police Station Banihal in which it comes to fore that one British Citizen namely Richards S/O Derrick Trevor R/O British had stayed at Chanir Hotal near Railway Station Banihal during intervening night 19/20-March-2020.
On the bases of this information, the owner of Chanar Hotel namely Ajaz Ahmad S/O Ghulam Hassan Naik R/O Kaskoot Tehsil Banihal has been found violating the DM. order No. DCR/HQA/2610-25.Dated.17-03-2020 wherein it was imparted on all the hoteliers to inform the administration or nearby police station with regard to stay of outsiders including foreigners beside not to all any such person or persons to stay in hotels without bringing the matter into the notice of the administration or police.
Following the incident, Ramban police register a case FIR No. 48/2020 U/S 188 IPC smat Police Station Banihal and started its investigation. A senior official confirm to Early Times that the accused hotelier has been arrested and investigation is taken up. He said that such lapses that could put the lives of people at risk due to outbreak of Corona Virus epidemic will be tolerated and urged upon the people to cooperate with the police and administration.
Meanwhile like in other parts of the country, the Janta Curfew remains in force in majority of the towns in Ramban Districts viz Batote, Ramban, Banihal, Patnitop beside all the localities in the District wore deserted look as the public prefer stay inside their homes.
