As VP MC Kishtwar is busy in photo ops, his ward have uncleared garbage dumps

Kishtwar, Mar 23: Much to the disappointment of many people in Bagwan Mohallah area of Ward No.12 of Kishtwar Municipal Council, the concern Ward member who is also Vice President of Municipality seems less bothered about the plight of the people who are facing growing threat of infection aimed the threat of Corona Virus with garbage spread all over while at the same time the ward member is busy in photo ops.
The locals of Bagwan Mohallah in Kishtwar told the Early Times that the officials of Kishtwar Municipality fail to clear the garbage from their locality despite several complaints were lodged with the authorities, but the problem persists.
The local hotelier told the Early Times that he even approach Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar several times complaining about the dumps of garbage laying unattended added that the dumps outside his hotel emitted foul smell as a result of which the people passing through this area which is the entry point to Ward No. 12 and is only few hundred meters away from Bus Stand Kishtwar.
He said that they many a time clean the area, but to their surprise no one Municipality turn up for days to collect the garbage and clean up the garbage dump.
The hotelier said that after he filled a complaint with DC Kishtwar, one of the employee from Kishtwar Municipality turn up at his hotel and threatened him of dire consequences.
He said that the garbage dumps had become the breeding house for dogs and street animals . The people said that the locality is densely populated area and there is every apprehension of spread of infection.
The people said that the ward member is busy in clicking photographs with other counsellors propagating the so called work done on account of disinfecting the various areas of the Kishtwar Municipality by way of fuming and fumigation. The people urged upon the District Administration, President Kishtwar Municipal Council and his ward member to show some mercy on the people living in Baghwan Mohallah area by pressing men and machinery to clear the garbage dumps from the locality.
