DDC Udhampur reviews ration distribution in the district

UDHAMPUR, April 6: District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla today convened a meeting with officers of Industry, RDD and FCS&CA departments to review the block wise progress of public distribution system, mid day meal and other essential services in the district.
While reviewing the blockwise progress of distribution of ration and mid day meal supply. DDC asked the BDOs to gear up their men and machinery for smooth distribution of ration in their respective areas so that all the beneficiaries get ration immediately. BDOs were asked to involve the local volunteers for smooth delivery of ration to the beneficiaries.
DDC directed the concerned department to avoid rush during distribution of ration and mid day meal and asked to ensure social distancing during the ration distribution.
DDC asked the AD FCS&CA to ensure the ration for the month of April and May is distributed to all ration dealers and asked the BDOs to ensure the ration for two months is distributed among all the beneficiaries. He also asked the concerned departments to submit daily ration distribution report.
DDC also asked the BDOs to prepare a local level plan for mask making on large scale by involving local tailors in their respective areas. Officers from KVIB/KVIC, Industries and SHG were also asked to gear up for large scale production of masks in the district.
DDC appealed the general public not to come out of their homes and advised them to maintain social distancing. He said that community kitchens have been established and more than 5000 packed meals are served among stranded labours, poors and destitutes in Udhampur town and peripherals areas.
GM DIC Suram Chand Sharma is designated as Nodal Officer for the management and distribution of food among poors.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Choudhary, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, AD FCS&CA, Arif Lone, BDOs of all blocks were present in the meeting.
