| Vice Chairman MC Bishnah demands PHH ration cards for BPL families | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 16: Vice Chairman, Municipal Committee (MC), Bishnah has demanded to make Priority House Holds (PHH) ration cards for the local families of the area falling under Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
Addressing media persons here today, Vice Chairman MC, Bishnah, Jai Bharat said that those families of Bishnah and adjoining areas which fall under BPL category should be provided with PHH ration cards at the earliest.
He informed that in order to pursue the case of such BPL families he submitted a memorandum to the Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) demanding the provision of PHH ration cards for the poor and down trodden under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) as ensured by National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013.
Jai Bharat further informed that it was also urged to the TSO to strike off the names of those illegal beneficiaries, who have made BPL or PHH ration cards by using fraudulent means, adding that an exercise should be conducted in every ward of Bishnah to ascertain the deserving families irrespective of caste and it should be made sure that the ration cards are provided to them on priority. |
