EarlyTimes Report

JAMMU, May 19: Kashmiri Pandit migrants have termed the economic package which was recently announced by the Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in phased manner as hoax. Lambasting the central and J&K UT Governments for their utter failure and pathetic approach to meet the basic problems of Kashmiri Pandit migrants who were living in camps in Jammu and other parts of the country ,Jagti Tenement Committee president Shadi Lal Pandita said that we Kashmiri Pandit migrants have been deprived of any benefit from the so called economic package of whopping Rs 20 lakh crore which was announced by the Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in phased manner recently.
We have been asking for enhancement of monthly cash assistance for the last six years which is at present being paid to a relief holder at the rate of Rs 3250 to the maximum of Rs 13000 each family of four souls or so per month Pandita said, adding that it was very meagre amount to be paid to KP relief holders at a point of time when prices of essential commodities were sky high and what to talk about other things.
He urged as long as Rehabilitation plan for KP migrants to settle them at their respective places in the valley is not being prepared or finalized the central government and administration of J&K UT must take care of their needs and immediately enhance monthly cash relief to Rs25000 per family per month which will give them a sigh of relief and a feeling of security ,Pandita added
