UDHAMPUR, May 19: Two persons including a child fell into Ujh rivulet in Basantgarh area while crossing a make shift bridge whose wooden planks got dislocated.
The duo washed away about 500 meters downstream but thanks to the heroics of the locals both of them were rescued to safety and are now out of danger. Locals told Early Times that the present mishap is not a new one as many innocent lives have fallen prey to the rivulet yet the authorities have failed to rise from slumbers to build a bridge over the rivulet. Some people informed that the makeshift bridge is not strong and many times people fall into the rivulet while crossing it. Locals have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to get a bridge over the rivulet so that hundreds of peoples may benefit and loss of innocent lives might also be saved.
