Optimism only way out

The Government of India easing restrictions in the fourth phase of lockdown is a clear hint that we have to learn to live with COVID-19.
The new guidelines have made it clear that life cannot stop forever. It has been more than 56-days since the people have been locked in their homes across the country. The COVID-19 curve has not flattened, but situation has not turned that bad also. The death rate being under control seems to have made the helmsmen believe that they can take a chance. People will have to follow the norms like social distancing, wearing masks and avoiding unnecessary travel to keep COVID-19 under check.
According to new guidelines business establishments and shops can reopen but with certain riders.
The experts and others had predicted that the COVID-19 would peak in May and the graph will start to decline in June. It seems that the government is hoping that the predictions will come true and within a span of few more days India’s COVID-19 will start to move downwards.
Easing the lockdown restrictions will help in reviving the economy which has come to a standstill during the past 2-months. Now, it remains to be seen whether this move will workout or not. If the positive cases increase and death rate witnesses a spike then the government will have to look for a plan-B. And it would mean going back to the lockdown mode. But it looks like that the government has worked a plan to pull the country out of the quagmire of uncertainty.
Media reports indicate that the countries hit by COVID-19 are in the final stages of coming up with a vaccine. An American company has claimed that the vaccine is showing a good response and if all goes well it will be in the market by July. Another pharmaceutical company in United Kingdom has also made similar claims. Even the Indian companies are working hard to break the ice. There is every possibility about one or other country coming up with a solution to end the COVID-19 fear.
Life after the end of lockdown is not going to be the same. For time being the GoI has decided to give relaxation in phases. Fingers are crossed but everyone is hoping for the best. It’s the hope which keeps the world moving. Let’s hope that things fall in place and our imprisonment within our homes ends.
