Withholding of DPC process blocks promotions of Forest Deptt employees
5/29/2020 11:42:38 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 29: With casual approach adopted by the Government, thousands of employees of Forest Department belonging to various cadres have been deprived of their promotions allegedly for not conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) since years.
Sources told Early Times that the DPCs from Class IV employees to Range Officers Grade-I have not been conducted till date, which has discouraged the morale of employees.
“There are thousands of employees, who have not even seen their first promotion despite rendering a quite long time period in their service. Due to non-conducting of DPC, most of Incharge Range Officers have been awaiting their confirmation and similarly the Senior Foresters have also been deprived of their promotions,” they said.
They further added that although the process of the conducting DPC was initiated in the past but later was kept in abeyance due to unknown reasons and the concerned Higher Authority seems to be least bothered to initiate again the process so that these employees may get their legitimate rights.
“On one hand these unfortunate employees, who have been discharging their duties with full dedication and protecting forests at the risk of their lives particularly in present hard and tough times but on the other hand these employees are anxiously waiting for their first and some are waiting for their last promotions of their service career and if this situation remain continue then there are chances that these employees will retire from service without enjoying their promotions,” they added.
They further said that besides DPC issue, the file of reorganization of the department, which is on final stage, has not been cleared till date.
