| As transformer breaks down, people in Majalata’s 2 panchayats powerless | | |

UDHAMPUR, June 22: Residents of two wards of Panchayat Kail and Khoon in tehsil Majalta of district Udhampur are forced to remain without electricity supply in this sweltering heat for the last several days due to the failure of the transformer.
Panch Jambal Singh of Ward No 1 Sevai of Kail Panchayat and Panch Jwala Devi of Ward No 2 of Khoon Panchayat said that their transformer is not functioning from many days but no action has been taken by the department so far.
There is complete power failure in the area due to the breakdown of transformer, they added The locals said that for last several days they were facing power crisis after the local transformer developed a snag and the authorities failed to restore the same. However, Naib Sarpanch, Kail Panchayat, Nirmal Kesar informed the locals that the concerned authorities have been informed about the fault and assured the people that either the non-functional transformer will be repaired or a new transformer will be installed within day or two.
