Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 29: Editor in Chief Early Times, Munish Gupta, has asked the administration to take note of the problems being faced by the residents of Digiana Pulli and live upto the expectations of the people living in Jammu region.
Referring to the problems being faced by the people Munish— who would be contesting the forthcoming assembly elections as an independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency—said that many areas of this constituency have been left to fend for themselves. He said that despite repeated reminders the people at helm have not taken any step to address the issues which touch the skin of a common man.
“People of Digian Pulli Galli No 1 have been facing many problems. The roads in the area are in dilapidated condition and residents are suffering. Helmsmen should bear in mind that roads fall in the category of basic amenities and these should be maintained. The problem on account of this need to be fixed and that too at the earliest so that people don’t feel alienated,” said Munish.
Meanwhile, the residents of Digiana Pulli lane No. 1 while talking to Early Times said, “Dilapidated Roads in our area are ample proof of the official apathy. During the summer season the dust that comes off the roads leads to multiple problems for the residents. During the winter the mud and dirt add to the woes of people,” said the residents.
The residents said that clear cut directions should be issued to the sanitation staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation to lift the garbage from the area. They said that once the garbage is lifted there would no collection of the same in the drains thus leading to overflowing of the drains. “The basic problem is that concerned people do not do their job with honesty. As a result of this we have to encounter the problems.”
