MENDHAR, July 13: Even as the union territory government claims to provide better healthcare to patients in rural hospitals, the non-availability of X-Ray machine at Government Sub District Hospital Mendhar has come under severe criticism from patients as well as attendants. A group of patients while quoting the officials said that the sole X-Ray machine at the hospital is lying defunct from past two months and the authorities have not bothered to repair it. The patients as well as the attendants said that the authorities are pushing them to face hardships.
The locals said that the X-ray machine is lying defunct at the hospital despite the fact that it is very pivotal for the patients who meet with any accident or any other bone related issues. They said the patients are forced to conduct the X-ray test at the private clinic outside the hospital. They said that the huge rush of patients was witnessed outside the private clinic since they were waiting to carry out the X-ray. “It seems that authorities of the hospital are hand-in-glove with the private clinics,” the locals said. Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mendhar Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan admitted that the X -Ray machine is lying defunct. He said that a team of mechanics tried to repair the X- Ray Machine but they failed to do so.
