Govt teacher suspended for revealing identity of COVID positive cases

DODA, July 26: SDM Gandoh has ordered for immediate suspension of a Government teacher for allegedly disclosing the names of the officials, who tested for COVID-19 on social media sites.
“Pending enquiry in the matter and consequent upon the telephonic approval accorded by the Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Jagmeet Paul (Master) Higher Secondary School Gowari is hereby placed under suspension for disclosing the identities of COVID positive cases reported today in Sub Division Gandoh and for sharing the name over social media (WhatsApp group).
During the period of suspension he shall remain attached in the office of Tehsildar Bhalessa (Gandoh)” read the order issued by SDM Gandoh vide No. SDM/G/PA/20/298-304 Dated 25-7-2020.
The order further read that Tehsildar Bhallesa and ZEO Bhatyas will conduct an enquiry and submit the detailed report within 15 days.
Meanwhile, after Kishtwar District yesterday reported 10 positive cases no fresh case was reported today while three COVID patients were treated successfully and had been released from COVID care center.
Kishtwar District presently has 69 active positive cases and several areas including Chatroo Sub Division has been put under strict lockdown while several areas in the district have been declared as Red or containment zones to prevent the spread of the disease.
District administration is continuously making appeal to the people to follow the guidelines and SOPs beside wear masks and maintain social distancing.
