| 2nd phase of Plantation drive begins at SKPA Udhampur | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, July 27: The 2nd phase of plantation drive at Police Academy Udhampur began today. Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IGP Security J&K/ Director SKPA Udhampur inaugurated the drive. While inaugurating the 2nd phase of plantation drive, Dr Jamwal himself planted a mango tree plant. He said that last year during the 1st phase of plantation drive, Police Academy Udhampur has planted a number of medicinal, fruit and avenue trees. He said that last year a separate food park was created in the Police Academy for the children of the police families. He further said that during this plantation drive another suitable place for fruit garden at the back side of the Indoor Block has been identified in which more than 200 fruit plants of different kinds shall be planted. Dr Singh said that idea behind plantation of trees involving trainee officers is to inculcate a good sense among the young police officer to plant more and more trees to make them environment friendly.
Prior to this Dr Singh reviewed the preparedness of the Independence Day Parade to be held at Police Academy and issued necessary directions to the officers with regard to strict implementation of SOPs for covid-19 pandemic.
