Fine imposed on shopkeepers and shoppers for violating Covid protection SOPs

BARAMULLA, July 28: Violating the SoPs, the officials imposed fine today on various shopkeepers and shoppers in Uri town of Baramulla district.
Sources said that on the directions of SDM Uri, a team of officers from various departments visited the different markets of Uri town, where they found that some shopkeepers and shoppers were violating the SoPs with regard to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The officers checked markets of Uri town including Lagama,Bandi and Salambad Uri were they fined Rs 1000 for not maintaining the social distancing and not wearing masks.
However wearing of face mask and maintaining of social distancing by the general public has been made mandatory.
At the same time some free masks were also distributed among poor people who were seen without masks.
Nodal Officer COVID 19-Uri Naveed Altaf said About 90% of people were seen wearing masks and following SOPs .
He appealed to the people of Uri to abide by guidelines issued by govt regarding COVID 19.
The SDM said that Uri administration is working tirelessly for the safety of the general public and sought cooperation of the people in fighting the deadly infection.
TSO Uri also collected Rs.3000 fine from Shopkeepers who were not having rate lists .
Announcement from police vehicle and MC Uri vehicle about protective measures regarding Pandemic COVID 19 disease was also made in markets of Uri.
