DDC Udhampur reviews Eid-Ul-Adha arrangements

UDHAMPUR, July 30: To finalize necessary arrangements for Eid-Ul- Adha in the district, a meeting of district officers was held today here under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla.
Detailed discussions were held on various arrangements regarding the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha especially the availability of water supply, uninterrupted power supply, adequate supply of ration, quality and rates of eatables, and proper sanitation in the city in detail.
The DDC directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of water supply, uninterrupted power supply, security arrangements and proper cleanliness in the district. It was decided that there would be no mass gathering at Eid Gah and Masjids for prayer due to COVID-19 pandemic and the devotees would be appealed to offer namaz at their homes.
The Sheep Animal Husbandry department was directed to ensure sufficient availability of meat during the festival.
Municipality was directed to ensure proper sanitation arrangements in the towns. AD FCS&CA along with the Food Safety Officer and Legal Metrology Department were directed to keep a check on the rates of essential commodities and were also asked to ensure that good quality of eatables are provided to the people.
DDC conveyed Eid greetings to all and prayed for the welfare of whole society. The DDC added that District administration has set up a round the clock control room with phone number 01992-272727, 01992-272728 where the people can share their grievances. He asked people to call on this number to register their grievances if any or in case they face any problem in celebration of festival.
