JKPSA holds meeting, discusses problems of low budget pvt schools

JAMMU, July 30: To bring owners of low budget private schools who are solely dependent on this venture out of trauma due to the availability of insufficient funds a meeting was organized by Ajay Gupta, General Secretary of JKPSA.
In the meeting district Presidents of different districts of Jammu province highlighted series of problems which included successive circular issued by the JKBOSE during COVID period for imposing exorbitant late fee/ fine in addition to the actual fee, threat of starvation, ailment and depression for all those who are solely dependent on private schools due to the financial crunch by the nonpayment of tuition fee by the parents even after the announcement of unlock.
General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta said that both government and JKBOSE have created a suffocated environment for small low budget private schools by circulating number of orders, notifications and circulars which are based on the hypothetical presumptions.
To overcome the miserable condition of private schools during the lockdown period till date government has not released even a single penny to show empathy with the private school teachers who got impacted due to country wide lockdown although details for one time financial assistance out of SDRF have been submitted in favour of 26052 staff members of 1643 private schools of Jammu Division by the Chief Accounts officer,
Directorate School Education Jammu vide letter no. DSEJ/Acctts/ 1336 dated 20/06/20 to Director Finance, School Education department, Srinagar.
Taking cognizance of the matter Kamal Gupta, President of the Association, demanded immediate withdrawal of all circulars issued by the JKBOSE regarding late fee and penalty on the private schools to save small low budget private schools from harassment and depression.
He also appealed to Lt Governor to intervene for the immediate release of fund as promised for one time financial assistance out of SDRF so that teaching and non-teaching staff of private school can also celebrate Eid-ul-Azha and Raksha Bandhan as most of them may not celebrate these poise festivals due to the non-availability of sufficient funds.
