EARLY TIMES REPORT

POONCH, Aug 2: Although four more COVID-19 positives cases found in Police Station (PS) Poonch but astonishingly district administration seems to be in deep slumber as no decision has been taken to seal the station, which has been posing threat of spreading this deadly virus among others also.
Even the nearby market where this police station is situated, where these cops used to visit in various shops on daily basis, has been functioning while the markets in other areas have been closed.
A senior citizen of the Poonch Town told Early Times that Poonch Administration is totally failed to contain this virus due to its untimely decisions. Although entire market has been closed in Poonch by administration but the market near Police Station is open. “There is a Hotel Star in this market, where a COVID-19 positive person has been kept but later police personnel was quarantined in Police station quarters due to which four persons were found positives despite these cases, police station has not been contained,” he alleged.
He further said that the police station being busy place has been sanitized till date. “The hypocrisy of DC Poonch can be gauged from the fact that he got shops opened a day before Eid for checking purpose, which was totally ridiculous and now he is making delay in taking decision to seal Police Station,” he added.
When contacted concerned DySP said that he is no authority to take any decision regarding closing the Police Station. It is the District Administration Poonch, which can take a decision in this connection.
