8/4/2020 5:41:53 AM

Early Times Report

Poonch, Aug 3: The Social Welfare Department (SWD) Poonch has allegedly left a poor handicapped man in lurch.
The aggrieved has not received any pension for the past many months and is even finding it hard to manage two square meals in a day. “This poor man in Poonch town moves on artificial limbs and spends most of his time on the wheel chair. Till date several requests have been sent to the concerned department to provide him with a tri-motorbike but no one has paid any heed,” said locals.
“Only influential get pension as well as scooties, while the people who have no influence remain empty handed and run from pillar to post to get relief,” the locals alleged.
They urged the Lieutenant Governor to take note of the issue and direct the concerned officials to provide immediate relief to the deserving man.
When contacted the concerned officer said, “Sometimes pension is not released for few months due to paucity of funds. If someone has problem, he or she can visit my office.”
