Mujahid gives tips on hair cutting, fixes rates for barbers | Article 370 abrogation aftermath | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 8: Once shamelessly brandishing his name as Mujahid, the former SMC deputy Mayor has come out of the self-imposed hibernation. This time he is telling the people how much they should pay the barbers for hair cutting and shaving. The video statement put out by the former deputy Mayor has invoked quite amusing reactions on social media and people are laughing over such bizarre and cheap theatrics. The mediocre politician in question could be seen in the video providing rate list to the people on how much they should spend at the hair salons. He even in the video that he uploaded recently on his Facebook account has been urging people to make his message viral. At a time when Jammu and Kashmir is battling crisis on a plethora of fronts including COVID 19, post lockdown scenario, a plummeting economy, etc, the video from the former deputy, Mayor is evoking both condemnation as well as loud laughter. “Why is the government letting such a person lose. Sometimes he comes with a Mujahid prefix and sometimes becomes an expert on Kashmir. One wonders is government deliberately allowing such circus to happen or it considers this man least important and worthy,” says a senior politician from one of Kashmir’s regional political groups. The video in the year 2018 had gone viral on social media was of some meeting held at a private hotel in Srinagar in which this SMC’s deputy mayor was meeting a delegation from some other state. Posing as an expert on Kashmir affairs, the then deputy mayor could be seen sitting at ease on a sofa and sermonising the delegates about what should be done to resolve the ‘entangled’ Kashmir problem. While talking about the student exchange program, he says in the video that if a student from Kashmir goes to any other state within the country, he should not be ridiculed for raising anti-national slogan.“Have a big heart and don’t get annoyed. What would happen even if a Kashmir youth chants anti-national slogan. If we bear the insult of showing our identity card to a soldier hailing from Tamil Nadu, what is wrong if our youth chanting slogans” says the deputy mayor in the video clip. He even admitted that people in Kashmir don’t vote and that elections wouldn’t in any way resolve the Kashmir issue. He later became much active on the internet, declaring Mujahid as his first name. Later, he removed the prefix from his name. |
