IETE organises two day zonal seminar

Jammu , Sept 12: Jammu Sub Centre of IETE (Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers) organized a two day Zonal Seminar-2020 in online mode on the theme Recent Trends in Science and Technology.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest of the Inauguration function. Prof Dhar in his inaugural address emphasized the need of technical collaborations for reducing the gap between basic sciences and engineering applications. Prof Dhar also appreciated the efforts of IETE Jammu sub Centre and assured full cooperation for future collaborations. Prof. J. W. Bakal, President, IETE in his presidential remarks emphasized the need of collaborative research and elaborated on the vision of IETE for the benefit of the society especially for students of engineering and technology.
Earlier, while welcoming the august gathering, Prof Pawanesh Abrol, Chairman IETE Jammu Sub Centre informed the participants about the activities carried out by the centre in the recent years. The inauguration was addressed by Prof. P Prabhakar, Vice President, IETE, Prof. A P Thakare, Amravati, Prof. S L Kapoor, Zonal Mentor, North Zone, Prof. Parveen K Lehana (convener and Head, Department of Electronics, University of Jammu), Prof. Lalit Sen Sharma (Convener, Zonal Seminar & Head, Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu), Subhash Chander Jain, Chairman, IETE, Chandigarh Centre, and Ms Radha Suresh, Director Technical, NetLab Project consultants, Chennai, Maj Gen S K Sharma (retd), Joy Ganjoo, Er. Samir Sharma (Vice Chairman), and Er Vijay Sharma (Hon Secretary). Sunil, ADG, Prasar Bharati, GOI also actively participated in the seminar. The proceedings of the session were conducted by Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat, Principal, GDC, Marheen and Hon treasurer, Jammu centre.
More than 150 participants attended the Seminar. The prizes for the winners of were sponsored by Vigyan Parishad, J&K (a chapter of Vijnan Bharti) and their representative Sh Samir Vohra (organizing secretary) appreciated the proceeding of the event. The Seminar is being organized in technical collaboration with Department of Electronics, Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu, Sedulity Solutions & Technologies, New Delhi, NetLabs Project Consultants Pvt Ltd, Chennai, and Vigyan Parishad, J&K.
Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Prof Susheel Sharma, Prof Vinod Sharma, Dr. Shubhnandan Singh, Dr. Rockey, Dr. Ajay Aggrawal, Sh Jasbir Singh, Dr Rakesh Gupta, Dr. Suresh Rao, Ms Namrata Karlupia, Er Palak Mahajan, Ms Richha Sharma, Mr Vijay, Ms Preeti Rajput, Ms Akshita Abrol, Ms Verasis Kour, Ms Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Anjana Sharma, actively assisted the conduct of the Seminar. The Zonal seminar was attended by the IETE fraternity from all over India besides faculty members from various Colleges and Universities, students and the scholars.
