Declare holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh birthday: NAUP
9/15/2020 1:55:05 AM
EARLYT TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Sep 14: National Awami United Party National President Sandeep Singh demanded declaration of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh birthday which falls on 23rd of September in both Union territories in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He said due to Maharaja Hari Singh ji great efforts the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir acceded to India when he signed the instrument of accession on October 26, 1947. While talking to Media persons he lauded about the great Dogra ruler and his contributions in development, Social, progressive and economic reforms done during his regime as a ruler of J&K and for the welfare of the J&K people. He was one of the far-sighted and progressive ruler in India. Singh said that the sentiments of J&K people are associated with the Maharaja Hari Singh. BJP leaders must clear their stand on declaration of Holiday on his birthday because several birthdays have been passed by and BJP Government was in power in the Centre and in the erstwhile State of J&K and now lieutenant governor is also from BJP background but failed to declare holiday on his Birthday. He further said that many social, political and all other organisations are protesting and demanding from last many years on this issue for declaring Holiday on his Birthday but BJP failed to respect the sentiments of J&K and especially Jammu people and betrayed the huge mandate by not declaring holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh's birthday.
This has exposed the real face of Jammu BJP leadership. BJP totally ignored the great role of Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh he had done for the people of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir.
