Recoveries continue to outnumber fresh cases of COVID-19 in JK; 1355 more people recover

SRINAGAR, Sept 30: The encouraging trend of recoveries outnumbering fresh cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir continues with 1,355 virus affected patients being discharged from different hospitals today; so far 56,872 virus affected patients have recovered.
At the same time, Jammu & Kashmir reported 975 fresh cases of COVID-19 today while as 17 more people died due to the virus in the past 24 hours. The number of positive cases in Jammu & Kashmir is 75,070 with the number of casualties being 1,181.
Jammu district reported 353 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 173 cases, Baramulla district 53 cases, Budgam district 48 cases, Udhampur district 41 cases, Kupwara district 38 cases, Kishtwar district 35 cases, Pulwama district 33 cases, Rajouri and Poonch districts 27 cases each, Samba district 24 cases, Ganderbal district 23 cases, Reasi district 19 cases, Doda district 18 cases, Anantnag district 16 cases, Bandipora district 15 cases, Kathua and Ramban districts 12 cases each, Kulgam district six cases and Shopian district two cases.
Jammu district reported four fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by three deaths each in Srinagar and Poonch districts, Anantnag district two deaths and a death each in Ganderbal, Doda, Reasi, Rajouri & Kathua districts. So far 839 Corona Virus patients have died in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 342.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 975 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 568 from Jammu division and 407 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 75,070. Also 17 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 11 from Jammu division and six from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1355 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 790 from Jammu Division and 565 from Kashmir Division. Out of 75,070 positive cases, 17,017 are active positive, 56,872 have recovered and 1,181 have died; 342 in Jammu division and 839 in Kashmir division. Out of 16, 22,775 test results available, 15, 47,705 samples have tested negative till date.
Till date 5, 76,398 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,423 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17,017 in isolation and 50,575 under home surveillance. Besides, 4, 92,202 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 14,882 positive cases, 2096 active positive, 12,494 recovered, 292 deaths; Budgam has 4,871 positive cases, 922 active positive, 3,867 recovered, 82 deaths; Baramulla has 4,388 positive cases, 1,316 active positive, 2,948 recovered, 124 deaths; Pulwama has 3,942 positive cases, 427 active positive, 3,447 recovered, 68 deaths; Kupwara has 3,613 positive cases, 735 active positive, 2,811 recovered, 67 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,519 positive cases, 433 active positive, 3,021 recovered, 65 deaths; Bandipora has 3,400 positive cases, 493 active positive, 2,870 recovered, 37 deaths; Ganderbal has 2,891 positive cases, 365 active positive, 2,497 recovered, 29 deaths; Kulgam has 2,266 positive cases, 111 active positive, 2,112 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,027 positive cases, 177 active positive, 1,818 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 13,015 positive cases, 3,374 active positive, 9,457 recovered, 184 deaths; Rajouri has 2,653 positive cases, 1,333 active positive, 1,288 recovered, 32 deaths; Udhampur has 2,253 positive cases, 529 active positive, 1,706 recovered, 18 deaths; Doda has 2,211 positive cases, 1,071 active positive, 1,112 recovered, 28 deaths; Kathua has 2,063 positive cases, 488 active positive, 1,553 recovered, 22 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,774 positive cases, 942 active positive, 817 recovered, 15 deaths; Samba has 1,762 positive cases, 793 active positive, 949 recovered, 20 deaths; Ramban has 1,335 positive cases, 457 active positive, 868 recovered, 10 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,241 positive cases, 556 active positive, 678 recovered, seven deaths and Reasi has 964 positive cases, 399 active positive, 559 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 75,070 positive cases in J&K, 8,789 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
