Int’l Day of Girl child: Awareness event held at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Oct 11: A day long awareness program on the rights and education of girl child was today organized, here at Anganwari centre Banderna B to mark the International Day of Girl Child, 2020.
The awareness event was organised by District Administration under the supervision of District Programming Officer ICDS, Pawan Parihar under the Aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme. CDPO Kishtwar Iffat Ara; Health Mobilizer, Mohsin Nisar; Employment Officer, Waseem Hussain Khan, besides AWWs ,AWHs and the local women and adolescents girls were present on the occasion.
The officials sensitized the participants about the importance of celebration of International Girl Child Day 2020 with the theme “My voice, our equal future.”
District Programme Officer, ICDS Pawan Parihar stressed upon the participants to go for registration under various girl child beneficiary schemes sponsored by the ICDS and other departments for the uplift of the women folk.
He further underscored the importance of the education for the uplift of the girls in particular and women in general.
Various girl Children and girl child achievers in various fields were also felicitated with Kits and cash incentives.
Awareness on various Anganwadi services under the umbrella of ICDS and other schemes related to women and children including the Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG), Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Ladli Beti, Poshan Abhiyan Schemes for Women and Children, IYCF, etc was imparted to participants.
