DDC Ramban inaugurates inter zone -district level Athletic meet

RAMBAN, Oct 13: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today inaugurated two day Inter Zone- District level Athletic meet 2020-21, here at District Police Line ground.
The event has been organised by Youth Services and Sports Department Ramban. Students from all 6 educational zones of the district are taking part in different sports activities in this event.
On the occasion, the DDC, while interacting with the players, asked them to take up sports along with academics for channelizing their potential in full. He said that our children have enormous talent and potential, which some of them have already demonstrated at the state and national level.
DYSSO, Dharamveer Singh, while briefing about the event, said that different activities will be held during the two day event in which over 270 students of different age groups are going to participate.
The event would witness competitions in high Jump and long jump, Race, Shot Put, Discus throw, Kho-Kho and other activities he added.
On the opening day, Sanjay Ram of GHS Chachawa, Tariq Rehman of UPS Hinjoos & Abuzar Mushtaq of UPS Asher won first three positions respectively, in under 14 High Jump competition, whereas Ishfaq Ahmed of GHS Kanga, Deepak Singh of BVM Ramban & Sharaz Ahmed of GHS Senabathi were winner and first and second runner ups in under 17 category.
Similarly in under 19 years Ankit Singh of GHSS Dhandrath, Shakir Ahmed of GHSS Neel & Kirtan Singh of HS Ramban bagged Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.
In the under 19 years 100 Mts Race, Rohit Singh of HSS Ukhral, Arbaz Ramzan of HSS Tethar and Ankush Kumar of HSS Dandrath clinched Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.
In under 14 Long Jump, Mohd Imran of MS Thalwa, Mukesh Singh of MS Hiller & Tahir Ahmed Malik of HS Trana while in under 17 Adil Amin Pedhair of HS Perinder, Salman Khurshid of HS Chapnari and Mohd Asif of HS Senabathi and in under 19 Arun Singh of MS Ukhral, Adil Anayat of HSS Neel and Arbaz Ramzan of HSS Banihal clinched Gold, Silver & Bronze respectively. In under 14 Discuss Throw matches, Yaseen Ahmed of MS Howgan, Sourav Singh of MS Trikhna and Shahrukh Ahmed of MS Thalwa while in under 17, Ishfaq Ahmed of HS Perinder, Aqib Javeed of HS Nachalana and Umar Ali GHS Kanga whereas under 19 years Sharzeel Farroq of Hss Tethar, Mumtaz Ahmed HSS Banihal clinched Gold, Silver Medals respectively. In under 14 Short Put, Amir Mushtaq of HS perinder , Shahid Nazir of MS Hawgan & Birzesh Sehgal of MS Batote while in under 17 Adil Amin of HS Perinder, Danish iqbal of HS Doligam and Umer Ali of GHS Kanga whereas in under 19 years Shahin Hussain of HSS Neel, Jasvinder Singh of HSS Dhandrath and Sehab Reyaz of HSS Banihal clinched Gold Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.
