Army foils an infiltration bid along LoC in Tangdar

KUPWARA, Oct 14: Army on Wednesday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the line of control (LOC) in Tangdhar area of this north Kashmir district.
In a tweet army said suspected BAT(Border Action Team) action bid foiled in Tangdhar on Wednesday morning.
Timely action by alert Army troops averted an infiltration bid in Tangdhar. The Indian Army is searching the area and surveillance is on.
Suspicious activity was observed by three-four intruders by alert troops, close to the forward post along the line of control (LoC) in Tangdhar area.
Pakistan Army’s BATs have both regular soldiers and trained militants. These teams ambush Indian soldiers on patrols along the Line of Control or those deployed at forward posts of the Indian Army, sources told ET, adding Indian Army is keeping vigil on every movement on borders especially in the northern region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Timely action by alert troops averted infiltration bid. The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps is searching the area and surveillance is on.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Tuesday (Oct 13/2020) security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in Kupwara, and earlier a weapon smuggling bid was foiled by army in this same district.
The search operation by a joint team of security forces was launched in general area Gundi Shath of north Kashmir on Monday, following inputs by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Security forces recovered a large cache of arsenal during the search operation. The recovery included five pistols with 10 magazines, five grenades and 138 rounds of ammunition, biscuit pockets and other in discriminatory material in Teetwal-Tangdhar area, close to LoC.
The tweet further reads, timely action by this side army foiled an infiltration bid.
