Srinagar, Oct 27: The Union Home Ministry has taken a big decision on the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Now any citizen of the country can buy land in Jammu and Kashmir, for this, no local certificate will be required. The responses have started coming after the notification of the Center. Omar Abdullah, the former CM of the state and the leader of the National Conference, is furious at this decision.
Omar wrote in his tweet that the amendments made in the land ownership law in Jammu and Kashmir are not acceptable. No proof of localism has to be given for non-cultivated land. Jammu and Kashmir is now ready for sale, he who owns poor land will now have more problems. Omar Abdullah wrote that the Central government waited for the results of Leh Council, when the BJP won, the next day put Ladakh on sale. If the Ladakhis have expressed their faith in the BJP, they have been given this in return.
Before now only local citizens could buy and sell land in Jammu and Kashmir but now when Jammu and Kashmir is becoming a Union Territory for a year, then the Center has amended the law. Now any person outside the state can buy land to shop, factory and live in the valley. |
