Block Diwas: Several issues resolved on spot at Katra

REASI, Nov 4: District Administration Reasi resolved several issues projected by the public during the Block Diwas proceedings in Katra and other blocks of the district. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Kumar Sharma presided over the Block Diwas proceedings at Katra. The people of the surrounding Panchayats of Katra participated in the programme and highlighted their problems and developmental issues commonly faced by them. Scores of issues related to water supply, Power, road, transport, ration, ICDS, Nutrition, education, health were resolved on the spot and others were documented and forwarded to the concerned department for immediate remedy. Speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Kumar Sharma said that the main objective of organising such programmes is to improve service delivery and grievances redress mechanism. He further said the Tehsil, Block and District level officers would remain available at these events to hear the public grievances for their on the spot redress. Meanwhile, several grievances were forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt resolution through an established tracking system. In the programme, a review was also taken by ADC on all the previous issues flared up by local people. Moreover, instructions were also passed to the departmental functionaries for visiting their respective jurisdictions and listening to the grievances of the general public, besides holding awareness programmes, highlighting various individual beneficiary schemes across the Panchayats. Among others present were BDC chairperson Katra, Sham Lal, BDC chairperson Panthal, Chander Mohan Singh, ACD Anirudh Rai, SDM Katra, Ashok Choudhary, AD CAPD Reasi Mohd. Sayed, Distt. Social Welfare Officer Reasi,Gulshan Kumar, YSSO Chander Sharma, BDO Panthal Punika Marwaha, ARTO Ramesh Samotra, CEO Mushtaq Ahmed, XENs, BMO, ZEO, DSHO Reasi, Sarpanchs and Panchas, members of NGOs and and PRIs. Similar events were also held at Arnas, Mahore and Reasi where public put forth their problems and sought their immediate redressal.
