JK on path of recovery with less than 6% active positive cases as on date; 532 new cases

SRINAGAR, Nov 7: The percentage of active positive cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir as on date is less than six percent of the total positive cases even though 532 new cases of virus were reported today.
With the addition of fresh cases the total number of positive cases in Jammu & Kashmir reached 98,337 and out of this 5,584 (5.68 percent) are active positive. The death toll due to the virus reached 1,528 as five fresh deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 132 new cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 96 cases, Baramulla and Kupwara districts 44 cases each, Budgam district 43 cases, Udhampur district 38 cases, Ganderbal district 24 cases, Ramban district 19 cases, Kishtwar district 18 cases, Pulwama and Rajouri districts 15 cases each, Bandipora district nine cases, Anantnag and Poonch districts seven cases each, Kathua district five cases, Reasi district four cases and Kulgam, Shopian, Doda and Samba districts three cases each.
Baramulla district reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths with a death each reported from Srinagar, Jammu and Budgam districts in the past 24 hours or so. So far 1,013 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 515 such deaths have been reported.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 532 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 208 from Jammu division and 324 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 98,337. Also five COVID-19 deaths have been reported; one from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 688 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 254 from Jammu Division and 434 from Kashmir Division. Out of 98,337 positive cases, 5,584 are active positive, 91,225 have recovered and 1,528 have died; 515 in Jammu division and 1,013 in Kashmir division.
Out of 24, 61,279 test results available, 23, 62,942 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 66,639 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,430 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,584 in isolation and 43,265 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 00,832 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 20,291 positive cases, 1,373 active positive, 18,544 recovered, 374 deaths; Baramulla has 6,451 positive cases, 1,045 active positive, 5,257 recovered, 149 deaths; Budgam has 6,218 positive cases, 283 active positive, 5,840 recovered, 95 deaths; Pulwama has 4,760 positive cases, 181 active positive, 4,496 recovered, 83 deaths; Kupwara has 4,657 positive cases, 449 active positive, 4,135 recovered, 73 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,293 positive cases, 181 active positive, 4,037 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,120 positive cases, 161 active positive, 3,913 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,690 positive cases, 221 active positive, 3,434 recovered, 35 deaths; Kulgam has 2,509 positive cases, 83 active positive, 2,378 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,252 positive cases, 97 active positive, 2,120 recovered, 35 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 18,275 positive cases, 644 active positive, 17,365 recovered, 266 deaths; Rajouri has 3,259 positive cases, 90 active positive, 3,121 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,824 positive cases, 166 active positive, 2,626 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,704 positive cases, 96 active positive, 2,560 recovered, 48 deaths; Kathua has 2,503 positive cases, 49 active positive, 2,421 recovered, 33 deaths.
"Poonch has 2,290 positive cases, 98 active positive, 2,170 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,210 positive cases, 77 active positive, 2,108 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,024 positive cases, 123 active positive, 1,886 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,680 positive cases, 109 active positive, 1,553 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,327 positive cases, 58 active positive, 1,261 recovered, eight deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 98,337 positive cases in J&K, 9,975 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
