Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 13: J&K Government has modified the transfer order of a KAS officer twice in four months. The officer is reportedly not willing to join as Managing Director (MD) or Deputy Commissioner (DC) of any district.
According to sources, Arun Kumar Manhas, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), J&K is not willing to leave the post and the government seems in no mood to hurt him.
In July this year he was transferred by the government and was posted as MD but he refused the post he was holding. “Arun Kumar Manhas, KAS, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, is transferred and posted as Managing Director, J&K Housing Board, against an available vacancy”, government order number 721-JK (GAD) of 2020, dated 23/07/2020 read, but sources said, “Manhas refused to join and accordingly the transfer order was modified next day. The post of MD J&K, Housing Board is still lying vacant.”
“Arun Kumar Manhas, KAS, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar”, Government order no 1042-JK (GAD) dated 12/11/2020 read but the officer second time refused to join his new place of posting.
“Arun Kumar Manhas, KAS, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, under orders of transfer as Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, shall continue as Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan,” read another modified government order issued on 13/11/2020.
