SRINAGAR, Nov 25: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 93.57 percent after 570 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals and COVID centres today. The total number of positive cases reached 1, 07,819 with 489 new cases and the death toll reached 1663 following 12 fresh deaths.
Jammu district reported 126 new cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 85 cases, Udhampur district 46 cases, Baramulla district 39 cases, Budgam district 33 cases, Doda district 27 cases, Kupwara district 24 cases, Kishtwar district 22 cases, Bandipora district 17 cases, Ganderbal and Samba districts 12 cases each, Kathua district 10 cases, Reasi district eight cases, Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Rajouri and Ramban districts five cases each and Poonch district three cases.
Srinagar district in Kashmir valley reported five fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by three deaths in Udhampur district in Jammu division, Samba district two deaths and a death each in Kupwara and Kathua districts. So far 1,091 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 572.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 489 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 264 from Jammu division and 225 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 07,819. Also 12 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; six from Jammu division and six from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 570 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 186 from Jammu Division and 384 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 07,819 positive cases, 5,264 are active positive, 1, 00,892 have recovered and 1,663 have died; 572 in Jammu division and 1,091 in Kashmir division.
Out of 28, 85,308 test results available, 27, 77,489 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 75,516 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19,500 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,264 in isolation and 47,700 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 01,389 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 22,598 positive cases, 1,321 active positive, 20,864 recovered, 413 deaths; Baramulla has 7,316 positive cases, 419 active positive, 6,737 recovered, 160 deaths; Budgam has 6,777 positive cases, 304 active positive, 6,374 recovered, 99 deaths; Kupwara has 5,114 positive cases, 457 active positive, 4,575 recovered, 82 deaths; Pulwama has 5,021 positive cases, 159 active positive, 4776 recovered, 86 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,514 positive cases, 124 active positive, 4,313 recovered, 77 deaths; Bandipora has 4,367 positive cases, 150 active positive, 4,167 recovered, 50 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,128 positive cases, 221 active positive, 3,870 recovered, 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2,582 positive cases, 59 active positive, 2,473 recovered, 50 deaths and Shopian has 2,313 positive cases, 67 active positive, 2,209 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 20,092 positive cases, 573 active positive, 19,227 recovered, 292 deaths; Udhampur has 3,405 positive cases, 407 active positive, 2,952 recovered, 46 deaths; Rajouri has 3,389 positive cases, 92 active positive, 3,248 recovered, 49 deaths; Doda has 3,011 positive cases, 205 active positive, 2,753 recovered, 53 deaths; Kathua has 2,706 positive cases, 62 active positive, 2,608 recovered, 36 deaths.
“Samba has 2,403 positive cases, 156 active positive, 2,216 recovered, 31 deaths; Kishtwar has 2392 positive cases, 216 active positive, 2160 recovered, 16 deaths; Poonch has 2,385 positive cases, 76 active positive, 2,287 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,874 positive cases, 118 active positive, 1,738 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,432 positive cases, 78 active positive, 1345 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 07,819 positive cases in J&K, 10,648 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
