Mere 4.67 percent active cases of Corona Virus in JK; 512 new cases reported, four fresh deaths

SRINAGAR, Nov 28: The COVID-19 active positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir are 4.67 percent of the total number of positive cases of the virus that have been reported so far. There are 5,112 active positive cases out of 1, 09,383 positive cases in the union territory.
Jammu & Kashmir reported 512 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 09,383. The death toll due to the virus reached 1,680 as four deaths were reported in the past 24 hours or so.
Jammu district reported 129 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 97 cases, Rajouri district 33 cases, Udhampur district 31 cases, Baramulla and Kishtwar districts 26 cases each, Budgam district 25 cases, Kathua district 23 cases, Samba district 20 cases, Doda district 18 cases, Kupwara district 16 cases, Pulwama and Ganderbal districts 14 cases each, Bandipora district 12 cases, Reasi district 10 cases, Ramban district nine cases, Anantnag district seven cases, Shopian and Poonch districts one case each.
Jammu, Baramulla, Ganderbal and Doda districts in the union territory reported a Corona Virus death each in the past 24 hours. So far 1,099 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 581.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 512 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 300 from Jammu division and 212 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 09,383. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu division and two from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 632 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 179 from Jammu division and 453 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 09,383 positive cases, 5,112 are active positive, 1, 02,591 have recovered and 1,680 have died; 581 in Jammu division and 1,099 in Kashmir division.
Out of 29, 69,672 test results available, 28, 60,289 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 85,192 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,950 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,112 in isolation and 39,938 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 17,512 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 22,892 positive cases, 1,208 active positive, 21,268 recovered, 416 deaths; Baramulla has 7,406 positive cases, 352 active positive, 6,892 recovered, 162 deaths; Budgam has 6,852 positive cases, 284 active positive, 6468 recovered, 100 deaths; Kupwara has 5,178 positive cases, 256 active positive, 4,840 recovered, 82 deaths; Pulwama has 5,071 positive cases, 152 active positive, 4,833 recovered, 86 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,534 positive cases, 125 active positive, 4,331 recovered, 78 deaths; Bandipora has 4,395 positive cases, 138 active positive, 4,207 recovered, 50 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,178 positive cases, 206 active positive, 3934 recovered, 38 deaths; Kulgam has 2,590 positive cases, 50 active positive, 2,490 recovered, 50 deaths and Shopian has 2,339 positive cases, 70 active positive, 2,232 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 20,474 positive cases, 653 active positive, 19,524 recovered, 297 deaths; Udhampur has 3,513 positive cases, 447 active positive, 3,019 recovered, 47 deaths; Rajouri has 3,446 positive cases, 124 active positive, 3273 recovered, 49 deaths; Doda has 3,084 positive cases, 237 active positive, 2,791 recovered, 56 deaths; Kathua has 2,771 positive cases, 100 active positive, 2,635 recovered, 36 deaths.
“Kishtwar has 2,461 positive cases, 268 active positive, 2,239 recovered, 16 deaths; Samba has 2,450 positive cases, 180 active positive, 2,239 recovered, 31 deaths; Poonch has 2,388 positive cases, 60 active positive, 2,306 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,903 positive cases, 115 active positive, 1,770 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,458 positive cases, 87 active positive, 1,362 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 09,383 positive cases in J&K, 10,713 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
