Accused of financial embezzlement, Principal GHSS withholds salary of Sr Lecturer

Jammu, Dec 3: Accused of financial embezzlement Principal Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khour has withheld the salary of his colleague (vice-principal).
According to sources, Dewan Chand, senior lecturer, Physics posted in GHSS Khour, sent a complaint demanding release of his pending and stern against Principal for his alleged involvement in financial embezzlement.
The DSEJ conducted an enquiry into the allegations level by the lecturer against his principal through joint director, school education department for Jammu, Samba, Kathua districts.
On the basis of enquiry officer’s recommendation, the DSEJ directed the Principal GHSS Khour release his salary. “As recommended by the enquiry officer, you are hereby instructed to release the pending salary of Dewan Chand Kundal, Sr. Lecturer Physics of your institution which has been kept withheld under an intimation to this directorate, after observing all the codal formalities as required under rules”, DSEJ instructed Principal GHSS Khour vide order no. DSEJ/Gaz 14654-58, dated 03/07/2010.
But the Principal preferred to sit instruction issued by the top boss. “Five months have passed, when the directorate issued instructions, but same have not been materialised by the concerned Principal”, they said, adding that on same day, when the DSEJ issued instructions for release of salary of the lecturer, the director also asked Chief Account Officer to conduct an enquiry against the Principal in alleged financial embezzlement committed by the Principal.
Ajay Kumar Sharma, Principal GHSS Khour when contacted added that the lecturer approached directorate, has represented his case before me.
But, sources said that the Principal deliberately ignored the Director’s instruction. “He wants to harass the Lecturer, the lecturer, in the absence of Principal had relieved a physical education teacher following his transfer from GHSS Khour, it made Principal angry so he is harassing his colleague,” they claimed.
