JK reports 582 new cases of Corona Virus; positive cases reach 111712, 10 fresh deaths

SRINAGAR, Dec 3: The total number of Corona Virus positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 11,712 as 582 new cases of virus were reported today. The death toll due to the virus reached 1,718 as 10 more people died due to the virus in the past 24 hours.
Jammu district reported 142 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 126 cases, Udhampur district 50 cases, Budgam district 46 cases, Baramulla district 24 cases, Reasi district 23 cases, Rajouri and Doda districts 22 cases each, Pulwama and Samba districts 17 cases each, Ramban district 15 cases, Ganderbal district 14 cases, Bandipora district 12 cases, Kupwara and Kathua districts 10 cases each, Shopian district nine cases, Anantnag district eight cases, Kishtwar district seven cases, Kulgam district six cases and Poonch district two cases.
Srinagar district in Kashmir division reported four fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Jammu district three deaths and a death each in Bandipora, Udhampur and Kishtwar districts. So far 1,115 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 603.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 582 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 310 from Jammu division and 272 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 11,712. Also 10 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; five from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 419 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 242 from Jammu division and 177 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 11,712 positive cases, 5,104 are active positive, 1, 04,890 have recovered and 1,718 have died; 603 in Jammu division and 1,115 in Kashmir division.
Out of 30, 94,143 test results available, 29, 82,431 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 95,971 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,896 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,104 in isolation and 31,923 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 36,330 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,383 positive cases, 1,161 active positive, 21,799 recovered, 423 deaths; Baramulla has 7,522 positive cases, 239 active positive, 7,143 recovered, 163 deaths; Budgam has 7,007 positive cases, 269 active positive, 6,637 recovered, 101 deaths; Kupwara has 5,234 positive cases, 220 active positive, 4930 recovered, 84 deaths; Pulwama has 5,144 positive cases, 161 active positive, 4,897 recovered, 86 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,579 positive cases, 130 active positive, 4,370 recovered, 79 deaths; Bandipora has 4,457 positive cases, 134 active positive, 4,271 recovered, 52 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,245 positive cases, 185 active positive, 4021 recovered, 39 deaths; Kulgam has 2,605 positive cases, 60 active positive, 2,494 recovered, 51 deaths and Shopian has 2,362 positive cases, 80 active positive, 2,245 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 21,041 positive cases, 789 active positive, 19,945 recovered, 307 deaths; Udhampur has 3,694 positive cases, 453 active positive, 3,190 recovered, 51 deaths; Rajouri has 3,549 positive cases, 188 active positive, 3,311 recovered, 50 deaths; Doda has 3,161 positive cases, 207 active positive, 2,898 recovered, 56 deaths; Kathua has 2,844 positive cases, 104 active positive, 2,701 recovered, 39 deaths.
“Kishtwar has 2,517 positive cases, 244 active positive, 2,254 recovered, 19 deaths; Samba has 2,512 positive cases, 184 active positive, 2,296 recovered, 32 deaths; Poonch has 2,399 positive cases, 53 active positive, 2,324 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,956 positive cases, 113 active positive, 1,825 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,501 positive cases, 130 active positive, 1,362 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 11,712 positive cases in J&K, 10,823 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
