JK reports 544 new cases of COVID-19; 12 fresh deaths, total positive cases 112256

SRINAGAR, Dec 4: The total number of Corona Virus positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 12,256 as 544 new cases of virus were reported today. The death toll due to the virus reached 1730 as 12 deaths took place in the past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 118 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 109 cases, Udhampur district 51 cases, Budgam district 37 cases, Baramulla district 29 cases, Kishtwar district 27 cases, Rajouri district 24 cases, Samba district 23 cases, Ramban district 20 cases, Ganderbal district 16 cases, Pulwama and Doda districts 15 cases each, Kathua district 13 cases, Anantnag district 12 cases, Bandipora district 11 cases, Kupwara district 10 cases, Shopian district six cases, Poonch and Reasi districts three cases and Kulgam district two cases.
Jammu district in the Jammu division reported five fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar and Ramban districts two deaths each and a death each in Budgam, Kupwara and Doda districts. So far 1,119 people have lost their lives to the virus in the Kashmir while as in Jammu division 611 virus related deaths have taken place so far.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 544 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 288 from Jammu division and 256 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 12,256. Also 12 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; eight from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division.
Moreover 647 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 380 from Jammu division and 267 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 12,256 positive cases, 4,989 are active positive, 1, 05,537 have recovered and 1,730 have died; 611 in Jammu division and 1,119 in Kashmir division.
Out of 31, 21,260 test results available, 30, 09,004 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 98,644 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21,561 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,989 in isolation and 30,229 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 40,135 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,499 positive cases, 1,180 active positive, 21,894 recovered, 425 deaths; Baramulla has 7,551 positive cases, 229 active positive, 7,159 recovered, 163 deaths; Budgam has 7,045 positive cases, 271 active positive, 6,672 recovered, 102 deaths; Kupwara has 5,244 positive cases, 215 active positive, 4,944 recovered, 85 deaths; Pulwama has 5,159 positive cases, 158 active positive, 4,915 recovered, 86 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,591 positive cases, 120 active positive, 4,392 recovered, 79 deaths; Bandipora has 4,468 positive cases, 131 active positive, 4,285 recovered, 52 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,261 positive cases, 178 active positive, 4,044 recovered, 39 deaths; Kulgam has 2,608 positive cases, 61 active positive, 2,496 recovered, 51 deaths and Shopian has 2,368 positive cases, 81 active positive, 2,250 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 21,150 positive cases, 778 active positive, 20,060 recovered, 312 deaths; Udhampur has 3,745 positive cases, 450 active positive, 3,244 recovered, 51 deaths; Rajouri has 3,573 positive cases, 201 active positive, 3,322 recovered, 50 deaths; Doda has 3,176 positive cases, 167 active positive, 2,952 recovered, 57 deaths; Kathua has 2,857 positive cases, 94 active positive, 2,724 recovered, 39 deaths.
"Kishtwar has 2,544 positive cases, 238 active positive, 2,287 recovered, 19 deaths; Samba has 2,535 positive cases, 207 active positive, 2,296 recovered, 32 deaths; Poonch has 2,402 positive cases, 51 active positive, 2,329 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,976 positive cases, 95 active positive, 1,861 recovered, 20 deaths and Reasi has 1,504 positive cases, 84 active positive, 1,411 recovered, nine deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 12,256 positive cases in J&K, 10,833 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
